Six districts and counties in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area join forces to create the "Great Three Gorges" tourism brand

The first Yangtze River Three Gorges Tourism Integration (Wushan) Tourism Promotion and Marketing Conference was recently held. Six districts and counties in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, including Wanzhou, Zhongxian, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wushan, and Wuxi, formed the Yangtze River Three Gorges Tourism Integration Tourism Promotion and Marketing Alliance and signed a cooperation agreement to integrate regional characteristic tourism resources, form boutique tourism routes, and jointly create the "Great Three Gorges" tourism brand.

The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River have abundant tourism resources, including magnificent scenery and profound cultural resources. However, in the past, due to the lack of overall planning and orderly construction, they have presented a state of fighting on their own, not only failing to form an overall advantage, but even competing with each other.

According to the signed agreement, all parties will formulate tourism product routes based on the principle of "grasping market demand, covering core scenic spots, forming lines with beads, and using points to cover the whole area". They will plan and package 4 to 5 high-quality routes, covering core scenic spots under each district and county.

At the same time, the six districts and counties will leverage their respective strengths to jointly carry out marketing and promotion activities. Select 2 to 3 key customer source markets each year for image promotion, channel construction, product promotion and other activities, establish a complete market sales system, and develop special tourism products for self driving tour groups, outdoor sports groups, parent-child tours, study tours and other groups, and promote them.

According to the agreement, the six districts and counties will also negotiate and introduce package packages and discounted prices for their respective core scenic spots, and launch them uniformly to the market, achieving market sharing, channel sharing, and customer sharing. In addition, the six districts and counties will also improve the service quality within their respective scenic areas, strengthen mutual information exchange and communication mechanisms, solve difficulties and problems encountered by tourists during their travels, and jointly maintain and create a good market environment.

The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is one of the earliest golden tourist routes in China to be introduced to the world, and is one of the four world-renowned business cards of Chinese tourism. Here, there is a rich natural ecological landscape. Over millions of years of natural creation, the famous Qutang Gorge, Wuxi Gorge, Xiling Gorge, as well as Yunyang Longgang, Fengjie Tiankeng Dijian, Wushan Xiaosanxia, Shennu Peak, Wuxi Hongchi Dam, Wanzhou Waterfall and many other landscapes have been nurtured, showcasing the unique charm of the Three Gorges natural scenery and a desirable place for the soul to the world. This place has a rich cultural heritage, and as the birthplace of Three Gorges culture and Ba Yu civilization, it has left many valuable historical and cultural relics such as Baodi City in Fengjie, Shibaozhai in Zhongxian, Tiansheng City in Wanzhou, Zhangfei Temple in Yunyang, and Ningchang Ancient Town in Wuxi.

In the coming period, Chongqing will focus on the strategic deployment of building the urban cluster of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area in northeastern Chongqing, and make every effort to promote the integrated development of tourism in the "Great Three Gorges". The eight major improvement projects will be implemented, and efforts will be made to strengthen the "Great Three Gorges" brand, protect the "Great Three Gorges" ecology, and enhance the "Great Three Gorges" transportation; Efforts will be made to implement the Three Gorges tourism project, promote the integration of Three Gorges tourism, and carry out Three Gorges tourism marketing, striving to build the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River into an internationally renowned cultural tourism destination and a national ecological tourism demonstration zone with world influence, attractiveness, and competitiveness as soon as possible.

The beauty of the Three Gorges has been praised by many literati and scholars since ancient times, such as "Farewell to Emperor Bai, Amidst the colorful clouds, the thousand mile long Jiangling is returned in a day", "Once the sea was difficult to turn into water, except for Wushan, which is not a cloud", "The goddess should be unharmed, astonishing the world".
