Notice on the Planned Suspension and Maintenance Arrangements for the Three Gorges Ship Lift

According to the requirements of the "Decision on Granting Administrative Licensing" (Changhao Xu Zi [2024] 03-001), the planned suspension and maintenance arrangements for the Three Gorges ship lift in 2024 are hereby announced as follows:

1、 Maintenance time

The Three Gorges Ship LiftAugust 25th, 2024 08:00Initiate planned maintenance shutdown, with a duration of 35 days.

2、 Gate crossing organization

During the maintenance period, the traffic organization for ships crossing the dam shall be carried out in accordance with the "Navigation and Dispatch Regulations for the Three Gorges Gezhouba Water Conservancy Hub (2022 Revised Edition)". Passenger ships, commercial vehicle transport ships, and container ships that meet the technical requirements for ship lift navigation shall be given priority to pass through the Three Gorges Ship Lock.

3、 Navigation services

(1) Information on ship crossing dams and navigation safety is available through the Three Gorges Bureau government website（ https://sxth.mot.gov.cn/ ）TheThree Gorges Navigation E-StationReal time updates are available through channels such as the Changjiang e+and Three Gorges Bureau's on-site bulletin boards.

(2) The communication support unit of the Three Gorges Navigation Administration of the Yangtze River has opened a 24-hour communication fault reporting platform (0717-6963710), providing remote reporting of ship borne terminal faults and timely technical services.

(3) The "Yangtze River Three Gorges Water Comprehensive Service Area" and the "Three Gorges Navigation E-Station" provide ship users with characteristic services such as navigation information, green energy, anti pollution emergency, waiting for gates and anchoring, gate security inspection, and warm relay stations through offline and online methods.

(4) The Three Gorges Maritime Management Agency provides 24-hour consultation on water safety information for the Three Gorges River section at each site (VHF10 channel).

(5) Three Gorges Navigation Youth Volunteers carry out boarding service activities to relieve the worries and difficulties of waiting ships and crew members.

(6) The wind inspection team of the Three Gorges Navigation Administration of the Yangtze River regularly conducts research on the waiting anchorage on or under the Three Gorges Dam, listens to the opinions of the crew, and maintains the sunshine navigation of the Three Gorges River section.
