Zhang-Fei-Tempel
Zhangfei Temple is a national 4A level tourist attraction, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and a national level scenic spot. It is known as a "scenic spot of Bashu and a cultural and algae resort".
Zhang Fei Temple, also known as Zhang Huanhou Temple, faces Yunyang County across the river. It was built in the late Shu Han Dynasty to commemorate the famous general Zhang Fei of the Three Kingdoms period and has a history of more than 1700 years. The temple takes advantage of the mountain terrain, sits on rocks and faces the river, layered and orderly, and is a magnificent and unique ancient architectural complex. Due to the construction of the Three Gorges Project, Zhang Fei Temple was approved by the state to be rebuilt in its original state across from Yunyang New City. Following the principle of "not changing the original state of cultural relics", the temple was closed for demolition in October 2002 and reopened in July 2003. As the largest "immigrant" - Zhang Fei and the most expensive "relocated household" - Zhang Fei Temple is the cultural relic relocation project with the farthest relocation distance, highest cultural relic level, and largest single project investment since the founding of New China.
The main hall
Stepping into the main hall through the slanted door and path, there is a majestic atmosphere of "clear wind on the river, pavilions and towers, corridors connecting the halls, and grandeur". The main hall was built to worship Zhang Fei, and there are a series of statues inside, such as the "Zhang Fei Statue", "Angry Whip Supervising Post", "Righteous Release Yan Yan", "Changban Defeating the Enemy", "Langzhou Murdered", etc. The plaques on the roof beams are engraved with the evaluation of Zhang Fei by later generations: "He supported the Han Ding with strength", "Strong and upright", "Righteousness will last forever".
