Yichang Three Gorges Jiufeng Valley Scenic Area

The Three Gorges Jiufenggu Ecotourism Resort is located in Wuyanquan Town, Yidu City. It was heavily developed by Yidu Sanchuan Ecotourism Development Co., Ltd. and is a key tourism project in Yidu City this year. The scenic area is based on the Chouxi Canyon and natural waterfall resources, loaded with the cultural heritage of Jingchu Jiufeng, supplemented by a main ecological flower sea as a medium, and with gamified interactive experiential projects as the thread, it integrates numerous entertainment projects such as seasonal flower sea, canyon stream tracing, high-altitude zip line, boardwalk trails, children's exploration amusement park, and main activities. Based on the characteristics of resources and regional features, the Three Gorges Jiufeng Valley plans to construct three core areas: the Theme Flower Sea Grand Canyon, the Chouxi Canyon Adventure, and the Children's Nature Exploration Park, as well as five functional sub areas: the comprehensive service area, the Huaxi sightseeing area, the canyon amusement area, the romantic leisure area, and the wooden vacation area. The goal is to create the most fun tourist resort in Yichang, integrating canyon amusement, children's natural exploration, quality education, sightseeing and leisure functions.

In 2017, it was approved by the State Council and listed as a national AAAA level tourist attraction.

The Three Gorges Jiufenggu Scenic Area is located in Choxi Village, Wuyanquan Town, Yidu City, Hubei Province, 26 kilometers away from the Yidu urban area. There is a waterfall creek about 3 kilometers long in the village, with an altitude of about 800 meters. Due to the unique geological structure, some active faults reflected by the faults and dislocations between the blocks have emerged. The wrinkles are unique, the cliffs face each other, and they are magnificent. Multiple narrow slits are formed between each fault, which is called a "U" - shaped valley in geology. Steep rocks, stalactites, waterfalls, and deep pools are full of danger and mystery. The largest waterfall has a drop of about 20 meters, and the water is fast and cool. It pours down from the top of the mountain, which is very spectacular.

Jiufeng Valley combines the beauty of unique rocks, dangerous cliffs, secluded valleys, and hanging waterfalls, creating a natural and charming atmosphere. The valleys and streams are filled with jade like springs, rushing down. Tourists climb through cliffs, jump over rocks, and cross the streams with constant laughter and joy, making it an excellent place to escape the summer heat, enjoy the water, and have fun.

You can feel the clear springs gurgling and the fragrant grass lingering in the valley, watch the canyon waterfalls, and listen to insects singing and birds singing. In the valley, there are many flowers such as crape myrtle, Bauhinia, wisteria, cherry blossom, crabapple, sunflower, rhododendron, etc. During the blooming season, fallen petals flutter around.

Long, long ago, the natural canyon river here was covered with willow trees, which provided shade and gurgled streams. Therefore, it was called Liuxi by people. After thousands of years of generations, Liuxi gradually became known as Chou Creek by people today.
