The Dijian Scenic Area is located in the southern mountainous area of Fengjie County, west of the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River. Located north of the Three Gorges Scenic Area in Qutang Gorge, south of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hubei Province, and east of the Longgupo Ancient Human Cultural Site in Wushan. It is 37.5 kilometers long from east to west and 19.5 kilometers wide from north to south, covering an area of 340 square kilometers. So far, they have discovered the world's largest funnel-shaped small village sinkhole, the narrowest ratio in the world's Tianjing Gorge fissure, and the underground river that is not yet fully understood but belongs to the world class - Longqiao River. It is still unclear how many caves there are in the sinkholes and fissures, and whether there will be any astonishing world-class landscapes here is still a mystery. The caves in the Tiankeng Dijian scenic area have attracted the attention of scientists and explorers at home and abroad. We believe that its mysterious veil will gradually be lifted.
In August 1996 and December 1997, Mr. Andy, Secretary General of the International Cave Exploration Association, personally led an exploration team to investigate the underground caves in the fissures. Due to the limitations of exploration equipment, the underground caves in the fissures were constantly changing. The Sino British joint exploration activity only advanced a few kilometers in the caves. What strange phenomena are there in this mysterious world, whether the underground rivers in the crevices are connected to the world's largest funnel-shaped small village sinkhole, and whether there are some peculiar creatures, are still mysteries to be explored.
