Two cliffs stand against the sky, and ten thousand feet strike from the ground. On the way to Xinglong Tiankeng Dijian Scenic Area in Fengjie, there is a paradise hidden, which is known as the "world's largest 'mountain gate'" - Fengjie Hankui Gate.
The cliffs on both sides of this place are cut like knives, standing vertically and steeply, reaching a height of over 600 meters. A natural stone gate, over 400 meters wide, is formed between the two mountains, towering and majestic. Its shape resembles the Kui Gate of Qutang Gorge and is known as the "Dry Kui Gate". Two "Kuimen" appear in the same area, one "drought" and one "water", echoing each other from afar. It's really amazing.
There is a small village with a sinkhole above the Hankui Gate, and a winding Jiupan River below. There are thousands of hectares of fertile land in the front, and an endless maze river in the back. This beautiful landscape, nurtured in the deep mountains, constantly emits various legendary colors.
The village in front of "Hankuimen" is called "Chair Village", also known as "Chair Flow". The terrain is like a Grand Tutor's Chair, and the "Chair" is full of terraced fields surrounded by pear and peach trees. In spring, pear and peach blossoms bloom brightly, with several farmhouses dotted among them and the sound of chickens chirping and dogs barking, creating a beautiful scenery of "Pear Source".
The Fengjie Hankuimen Scenic Area, carefully crafted in combination with the natural landscape, will open to the public on July 1st this year. At that time, tourists can not only enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, but also engage in leisure, exploration and other activities.
Hankuimen is about 40 kilometers away from Fengjie County, located in the hinterland of Jiaoshitang in Huilong Village, Xinglong Town, Fengjie County. Similar to the natural landscape of Kuimen in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, it is a masterpiece left by nature during crustal movements. Its shape and steepness are comparable to Kuimen on the Yangtze River. It is reported that due to the usual drought in the valley, small streams only appear on rainy days, hence the name 'Dry Kui Gate'.
The Han Kui Gate is composed of two cliffs that are more than 600 meters long and cut like knives, forming a natural stone gate that is over 400 meters wide between the two mountains. It is known as the largest "mountain gate" in the world by the geological community.
The world's largest "mountain gate" landscape is not inferior to Kuimen. The grandeur of the Han Kuimen is no less impressive than the Three Gorges Kuimen, which serves as a backdrop for the ten yuan Renminbi. There are also famous red leaves. The Hankuimen Scenic Area, which combines "short, strange, beautiful, and secluded" elements, has thousands of years of hanging coffins on its cliffs, bearing witness to Cuban culture. Ascending to the mountaintop for a bird's-eye view, the smoke from cooking is swirling and the clouds and mist are ethereal, just like the peach blossom garden in people's hearts.
At the Hankuimen, exploration can also be conducted. After passing through the Hankuimen, one can enter a 3-kilometer-long maze river. The maze river valley is surrounded by lush trees on both sides and steep cliffs on all sides, making it difficult for people to distinguish their paths, hence the name Maze River. There is a peculiar sight in the maze river, which is a deep green pool with an area of about 5 acres under Feiquan. About every 10 years, it suddenly sprays water columns tens of meters high continuously, making a thunderous sound that can be heard from 10 miles away. The locals gave it a loud name: "Pao Quan". Experts explain that this should be an underground intermittent spring.
It is understood that the Hankuimen Canyon is magnificent and steep, with steep cliffs on three sides at the source, towering high in the sky. A few mountain springs flow down, and the large waterfall that falls from the cliff over 40 meters high is formed by the underground dark river water in the Xiaozhai Tiankeng. The vegetation on both sides of the maze river is abundant, with active species such as deer, muntjacs, and rock sheep.
The local government combines the unique ecological and cultural resources of Hankuimen with the deep integration of Baidicheng Qutangxia, Tiankeng Dijian, Jiupan River, and Longqiao River to achieve regional linkage in tourism development. Relying on the unique traditional natural scenery and modern industrial projects of Hankuimen, we will create a European style town hotspot IP, ignite the tourism industry in Fengjie, and achieve dual growth in per capita tourism consumption and tourist numbers.
