The Xilingxia Scenic Area is located in the western suburbs of Yichang City, and is a section of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River that preserves its original style. The scenic area starts from Gezhouba in the east and ends at the Three Gorges Dam in the west, known as the "gateway to the Three Gorges and throat of Sichuan and Hubei". It is one of the first national key scenic spots in China and one of the birthplaces of Chu culture.

Ouyang Xiu once praised this place as "a place where the mountains and rivers connect with Shu and Chu, and the heavenly bell shines brilliantly in the Western Mausoleum". The scenic areas include Happy Valley, San You Cave, Shangri La and other scenic spots.

Gezhouba is located about 3 kilometers downstream of Nanjinguan at the Three Gorges exit in Yichang City. The dam extends north to Jingshan in Jiangbei Town and south to Shizibao in Jiangnan. It is majestic, tall, and has an extraordinary momentum. The dam has a total length of 2606 meters, a crest elevation of 70 meters, a designed water level of 66 meters, a total storage capacity of 1.58 billion cubic meters, and an average annual power generation of 15.7 billion kilowatt hours.

Gezhouba Dam is the first large-scale water conservancy hub project constructed by China on the main stream of the Yangtze River, known as the "first dam of the Yangtze River for thousands of miles". Standing at the mouth of Xiling Gorge, overlooking the Gezhouba water conservancy hub project, it is like a brilliant pearl embedded in the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges Gorge. The natural scenery and artificial wonders complement each other, adding a rich and colorful touch to the beautiful Three Gorges.

Binjiang Park is located in the center of Yichang City, lying horizontally on the banks of the Yangtze River. It is 3.8 kilometers long, with an average width of 65 meters, covering an area of 17 hectares, including 12.5 hectares of green space. It is an open park located by the street and water.

Originally a river beach, after the construction of the Gezhouba Dam project, this area gradually became a riverside park with greenery as its main theme and scenic gardens. Green is the main color tone of Binjiang Park. Amidst the green trees and colorful flowers, the antique buildings in the park, such as Zhenjiang Pavilion, Qu Yuan Statue, Shuangting Square, and Nanjiaopen Landscape Garden, blend seamlessly with the Yangtze River Avenue, Yangtze River Embankment, and Yiling Yangtze River Bridge. The scenery is picturesque and full of charm.

The Yiling Yangtze River Bridge is a cross river passage connecting the Military Region and Wujiagang District in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China. It is located on the Yangtze River waterway and is an important component of the central urban main road in Yichang City. It is also the eleventh Yangtze River Bridge in Hubei Province.

The main bridge is a three tower, central cable plane, prestressed concrete box section spread wing beam cable-stayed bridge with a length of 936 meters and a deck width of 23 meters. It is the only three tower inverted Y-shaped single cable plane concrete stiffened beam cable-stayed bridge on the Yangtze River, with the longest span in the world among similar bridges. The bridge has won the China Construction Engineering Luban Award.

Lover Spring is a national 3A level primitive underground river scenic area that integrates caves, springs, and waterfalls. It is known for its beautiful caves, clear springs, and unique waterfalls. Three extremely rare underground waterfalls run through the various shapes of stalactites, which are unique among karst caves in China and are known as the "most romantic underground river in China".

The scenic area consists of four series of natural landscapes, including the charming Lover's Ferry, Lover's Valley, Lover's River, and Lover's Palace. The graceful stalactites embrace each other like lovers, the gentle and elegant river of lovers flows endlessly, and the diverse scenery of the Lovers' Palace is infinite, making it the most beautiful "love water world".

The Three Gorges Waterfall is a national 4A level scenic spot located in Huanghua Township, Yiling District, Yichang City. It is the core scenic spot of the "Western Hubei Ecological and Cultural Tourism Circle" and a must visit destination for exploring Shennongjia.

The Three Gorges Waterfall, known as the "First Waterfall of the Three Gorges", is renowned for its green mountains, beautiful waters, unique caves, and stunning waterfalls. It is a natural geological museum showcasing multiple geological periods such as the Cambrian, Ordovician, and Cambrian periods. The air in the scenic area is fresh and it is a natural oxygen bar, which is cool and pleasant even in summer. The Great Waterfall Stream is 5 kilometers long, with over 30 waterfalls distributed along the way. Tourists climb upstream along the trails in the scenic area, and various types of waterfalls such as Hukou Waterfall, Yixian Waterfall, Pearl Waterfall, Ya Waterfall, Lianlian Waterfall, and Wufan Waterfall come one after another.

Tanziling is named after its shape resembling an inverted jar. The exhibition room is equipped with a dam model explanation, which provides a detailed understanding of the history of dam construction.

Tanziling is a tourist attraction for learning about the Three Gorges culture, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges, and promoting the Three Gorges Project. Tanziling is also the highest point of the entire Three Gorges Project, where you can not only enjoy the spectacular scene of the double line five level ship lock, but also overlook the entire Three Gorges Dam, with a panoramic view.
