Chongqing Three Gorges National Meteorological Park pilot project starts construction this year

According to the 2019 Municipal Meteorological Bureau Directors' Meeting, the Chongqing Meteorological Bureau will focus on promoting the modernization of meteorology in the new era, creating the Chongqing Three Gorges National Meteorological Park, and using "smart meteorology" to help improve urban quality.

The pilot project of Chongqing Three Gorges National Meteorological Park, which has attracted much attention, will start construction this year, providing an important carrier for Chongqing's meteorological work to "travel thousands of miles to reach the masses". The Chongqing Meteorological Bureau actively strives to include the Chongqing Three Gorges National Meteorological Park in our city's overall tourism plan, as well as in the scope of work and project construction of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau and the Municipal Cultural Tourism Commission. Complete the preparation and project approval of the feasibility study report for Chongqing Three Gorges National Meteorological Park. Carry out pilot construction and award plaques to scenic spots that meet the standards of national meteorological parks.

Assist in infrastructure construction and urban quality improvement

Around the construction of infrastructure and the improvement of urban quality, the Chongqing Meteorological Bureau will also formulate major plans for our city, the scope of application for climate feasibility studies of major projects, and the "Technical Specifications for Climate Feasibility Studies of Major Construction Projects", and implement the "Work Regulations for Overall Evaluation of Climate Feasibility Studies of Construction Projects in Chongqing".

Focusing on action plans for high-speed rail and expressway construction, urban rail transit projects, construction of Jiangbei International Airport and airports in Wanzhou, Qianjiang, Wulong, Wushan, Yongchuan, national spatial planning, construction of cross river bridges and mountain tunnels, water conservancy engineering construction, rural complex construction, sponge city construction, and planning and construction of the "Two Rivers and Four Banks" and "Four Mountains" in the main city, research the suitability of national spatial development, resource and environmental carrying capacity, urban spatial layout optimization, etc., and formulate and implement climate feasibility demonstration action plans.

In addition, we will coordinate various meteorological services such as environment, agriculture, hydrology, tourism, transportation, shipping, aviation, and energy. Ensure the provision of meteorological services for major social events such as the Smart World Expo and the West China International Fair, as well as special holidays.
