Chongqing and Hubei join hands to promote the development of Three Gorges tourism and jointly build an ecological tourism demonstration zone

The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and the Hubei Provincial Commission of Tourism Development recently signed the "2018 Chongqing Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges Regional Tourism Cooperation Memorandum" in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, further deepening the cooperation in Yangtze River Three Gorges regional tourism between Chongqing and Hubei provinces and jointly promoting the development of Yangtze River Three Gorges tourism.

According to the memorandum, both parties will firmly establish the concept of ecological tourism development, actively promote the ecological, industrial, and standardized development of tourism in the Chongqing Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges region, and jointly build the Chongqing Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges National Ecological Tourism Demonstration Zone; Promote the integrated development of ecological industries, vigorously develop new tourism formats such as ecological agriculture sightseeing and rural style experience.

Both sides will also strengthen the construction of tourism supporting infrastructure in the Chongqing Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges region, promote the integrated development of transportation facilities in the Chongqing Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges region, facilitate the smooth operation of the tourism ring road in the Chongqing Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges region, build and improve public service facilities, and form a comprehensive tourism service system across provinces and cities.

It is reported that in recent years, Chongqing and Hubei provinces have continuously strengthened cooperation in tourism brand marketing, tourism product development, and other aspects, and have achieved significant results in promoting the development of tourism in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. From January to September this year, the Three Gorges region of the Yangtze River received about 170 million tourists, achieving a total tourism revenue of 134.57 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of over 20%.
