The 9th China Three Gorges International Tourism Festival Promotion Conference was held in Shanghai

On September 20th, the promotion and publicity of the 9th China Three Gorges International Tourism Festival, titled "Magnificent Yangtze River · Poetry and Painting Three Gorges," officially kicked off in Shanghai.

Shanghai, as a counterpart city of Chongqing Wanzhou for many years, has made important contributions to the economic development of Wanzhou. At the same time, Shanghai and Wanzhou complement each other's tourism resources, serving as both tourist destinations and source destinations. In recent years, the tourism industry in Shanghai and Wanzhou has continuously strengthened exchanges and cooperation, and the two places have worked together to expand the Wanzhou tourism market, making Three Gorges tourism increasingly popular among Shanghai citizens.

The strategic goal of accelerating the construction of the Three Gorges tourism distribution center and important destination, as well as a livable tourist city along the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is to place the development of tourism in Wanzhou under the overall tourism pattern of Chongqing and the Three Gorges tourism. At the promotion meeting, Jiang Yiyi, Deputy District Chief of Wanzhou District People's Government, issued a sincere invitation to the citizens of Shanghai. She stated that the "two horizontal and two vertical high-speed railways, one ring and eight shooting highways, one aviation and one water port" transportation framework has taken shape. Wanzhou Airport has opened 20 domestic and international routes, including Shanghai. Currently, the waterway and land networks connecting major scenic spots and surrounding cities, as well as the 3-hour tourism circle of the Three Gorges, have been formed. Based on the radiation power of the Wanzhou transportation hub, exploring the Three Gorges and starting from Wanzhou is becoming a reality.

The theme of this tourism festival is "Magnificent Yangtze River, Poetry and Painting of Three Gorges". The 14 counties along the Three Gorges are based on the principle of "joint consultation, joint planning, joint operation and sharing", focusing on playing the "Three Gorges card" and singing the "Three Gorges opera" well, further building the Yangtze River Three Gorges tourism economic belt, and creating an upgraded version of the Three Gorges tourism industry and an internationally renowned tourist destination.

This year's tourism festival highlights the Three Gorges culture, regional customs, and local characteristics, fully reflecting the international and mass nature of the tourism festival, and strengthening the participation and sense of gain of tourists. The organizing committee of the tourism festival will also hold a press conference on preferential policies at the end of this month, mainly targeting self driving tourists and group tourists to launch various preferential policies, including ticket discounts for tourist attractions, toll discounts for highways in 14 districts and counties of Chongqing, subsidies for charter flights, tourist trains, and cruise ships to visit the Three Gorges, and other series of discounts.

At the promotion meeting, relevant personnel from Yunyang County Tourism Development (Group) Co., Ltd. and Wushan County Tourism Development Committee also introduced the tourism resources and routes of Yunyang and Wushan to Shanghai citizens respectively. The Huangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shanghai has also signed a framework agreement with the Wanzhou District Tourism Bureau for the treatment and recuperation of civil servants.
