The Sixi Ecological Scenic Area is located in Jingnei, Maoping Town, southeast of Zigui County, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It is situated on the south bank of the Yangtze River, 12 kilometers away from the new county town of Zigui and the Three Gorges Dam, and 40 kilometers away from Yichang City. The scenic area is named after four streams: Daxi, Xiaoxi, Bajiao Creek, and Shunyang Creek. The scenic area is distributed vertically along the Daxi River system, with a total length of 9 kilometers.
The Sixi Scenic Area is rich in water resources, with alternating canyons and wide valleys, large relative height differences, waterfalls and streams, and dense vegetation. A plant breeding garden has been built in the scenic area near the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. There are 25 types of plant communities, and dozens of animals such as macaques, pangolins, wild goats, leopard cats, and fish often play in the mountains and waters.
Sixi Famous Bamboo Garden has over 300 species of bamboo and covers an area of more than 10000 acres, making it the second largest bamboo garden in China. Tourists can visit bamboo gardens, live in bamboo buildings, sleep on bamboo beds, use bamboo utensils, and fully enjoy the flavor of frequently stir frying bamboo shoots with bamboo fire and drinking bamboo water to cook bamboo tea. The vegetation here is rich and preserves many rare tree species from different countries, such as the money tree and the Chinese Primula. Money tree
There really is a money tree in the world, and this tree is in Sixi. The money tree is not tall, its uniqueness lies in its fruit. Its fruit is a small copper colored round cake with a diameter of about 3 centimeters, surrounded by a thin circle of wings, and a protruding grain in the middle. After the grain falls off, a small circular hole is left, which is very similar to the small currency circulating in ancient times - minqian. Whenever people shake the tree, coins will fall to the ground one after another, hence it is called the money shaking tree.
Couple Rock
Entering Sixi Macaque Valley, on the right cliff, there are two huge mountains resembling two human heads, one resembling an old woman and the other resembling an old man. Looking at their expressions from afar, it was as if the husband had just reached out to embrace the old woman, who showed a shy face. The locals call this cliff the Couple Rock.
Golden Rooster News
Walking through the Macaque Valley and looking back, there is a mountain rock that resembles a rooster crowing high in the sky. The locals have given it a poetic name - 'Golden Rooster Shining Dawn'.
