Du Fu once wrote a poem that goes, "With three parts of the country, it is known as the Eight Formation Diagram." It refers to the Eight Formation Diagram left by Zhuge Kongming when he was entrusted with a solitary mission in Baidi City to deduce military strategy. Due to its great popularity among the people, on the seventh day of the first lunar month every year, local people would travel together among the eight formations, known as the 'Trail'.

Wu Gorge

The most famous peak in the 45 kilometer long Wu Gorge is undoubtedly the Goddess Peak among the twelve peaks of Wushan. Legend has it that in ancient times, there were giant dragons that posed a threat to the Sichuan Sichuan region. Xiling Gorge

As the longest canyon in the Three Gorges, Xiling Gorge is 76 kilometers long. The legend of this canyon is also related to Zhuge Liang. It is said that when Zhuge Liang entered Sichuan, he passed by the Three Gorges and hid a military book and a precious sword he had personally written on a steep cliff by the river that was difficult to climb, allowing brave warriors in later generations to retrieve them. The green mountains still exist today, but the heroes of the past are long gone.
