You can take a look at the guide for our one-day trip to the Three Gorges Dam in Yichang this weekend. We took a high-speed train from Wuhan and rented a car from Yichang East Station to drive there. We parked the car directly at the tourist transfer center and bought a bus ticket (35 yuan/person) at the lobby. There are three scenic spots inside, and the bus will stop there. You can get off the bus and visit by yourself. The tour time is about two to three hours, so remember to bring your ID card.
We previously registered for a one-day trip to Liangba and Yixia in Yichang. You can also check out this route online, and I think it's quite good. Every attraction throughout the journey was guided by a tour guide, allowing us to have a more thorough understanding of the history of the attractions.
