Yichang city is very close to the Three Gorges people, and it takes about an hour by car. We arrived from Changsha in April and originally planned to live in the city. In the end, we discussed living directly in the Three Gorges people scenic area. I think it would be more convenient for the OP to take care of the children and live in the scenic area. Taking children to play in scenic spots is too tiring.

I took a cruise with my child in Yichang during the summer vacation in July. It only takes over an hour to get from Yichang Station to the tourist center, but it still takes over half an hour to get to the scenic area when I go to the Three Gorges.
