We went at the end of July and bought a package ticket for 258 yuan per person at the Three Gorges Tourist Center one day in advance. We took a boat and then came back by car. We went to the tourist center early in the morning to pick up the tickets. There were five of us in total, and we had to pay an additional fee of 40 yuan per person for the VIP cabin on the third floor of the ship. I feel like this money is not worth it. I can't get close to the dam and can only dock downstream to enjoy the scenery from afar. I didn't see any worth seeing along the way by boat, so it's better to take a self driving tour. I don't recommend buying tickets for this tour.

There should be several routes to buy tickets to the Three Gorges Dam from the tourist center, and we can choose to take a car or a boat. The specific fees need to be consulted, and there is no need to buy tickets for the Three Gorges Dam anyway.
The Yichang Tourist Center offers a tour route to the Three Gorges Dam by boat. You can purchase tickets for two dams and one gorge online in advance, which cost around 200 yuan. Alternatively, you can go directly to the tourist center to purchase a sightseeing ticket for the dam scenic area without buying a boat ticket, which costs 30 yuan per person. The attractions inside the dam will stop at the tourist center for round-trip travel.
The best route to take a boat from Yichang Tourist Center to the Three Gorges Dam is to choose the route of Two Dams and One Gorge. At the tourist center, take a boat across Gezhouba and Xiling Gorge, then disembark at Sandaoping Pier and transfer to a tourist bus to visit the Three Gorges Dam (35 yuan/person). After visiting, return.
