The Katy and Kaizhen are already beyond the five-star standard, and they were launched very early. I remember it was in the 2000s. You can go and search for relevant information about them.
When was the five-star Katie launched? It seems to be in 2004. The ship is very old and there are not many entertainment facilities, but the room configuration is quite high, basically meeting the five-star standard. However, the room types are relatively few. If it were me, I think I would choose the Kaizhen. The standard room in Kaizhen on theMeiya Three Gorges Cruise booking websiteis cheaper than Katie, and the room area is also larger.
Last November, my family of three boarded the Kaizhen cruise ship, which cost over 2000 yuan each. We suggest upgrading our meals, especially for tourists with children.

@驿寄梅花:It seems to be around 300 or so people. If there are fewer people during the off-season, it's okay not to upgrade meals
ReplyI have searched for the launch date of the five-star Katy, which made its maiden voyage in 2004. If it comes to cruise ship facilities, except for the swimming pool, everything else is relatively complete. Actually, when choosing a cruise ship, many facilities are not practical, unless it is for tourists with children, the main focus is on its itinerary, attractions, and meals.
Agree, many entertainment facilities actually have to be charged separately.
The Katie was launched in 2004 and we went there on May Day. We boarded the ship in Chongqing and booked tickets for the Meiya Three Gorges cruise ship at 2300 yuan per person on the official website. However, when we boarded the ship, we saw that many tourists booked different prices, possibly because the booking time was different. The earlier the booking, the more favorable it was. The food and accommodation were both good, especially the service was very satisfactory, and I even gave a tip when I got off the ship. The scenery of the Three Gorges is so beautiful, it's really worth a visit.
