Many tourists who want to visit the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River often ask whether it is better to travel from Chongqing or Yichang. Personally, I think they are both similar. Anyway, the attractions to be visited are mainly determined by where you depart from. If you have enough time and have not visited Chongqing before, it is recommended to bring your family to Chongqing for a few days in advance, and then board a ship to visit the Three Gorges in Chongqing. Autumn is the most suitable season.

If you prefer a slow pace and don't need to rush, then departing from Yichang is the best choice. Like before, when I took my family to visit not only the Three Gorges scenic spot, but also the districts and counties of Chongqing, I set off from Yichang and spent four to five days exploring the Three Gorges before finding a place to live in Chongqing and then playing slowly.
